Introduction to Meditation

Postby mamatha on Fri May 09, 2008 2:26 pm

The final solution to all human problems & the only source of real fulfillment is within us.

Until well into the 20th century, most people interested in learning about the effects of meditation had to rely upon their own professional endeavors or evaluate anecdotal accounts professed by others who claimed an upper hand on the subject. Personal experience is by far means the best teacher, however this method requires adequate attention given and careful analysis of what is experienced or apprehended. Thankfully for the past several decades, scientific research with volunteer meditators has revealed that contemplative meditation correctly and regularly practiced does confer many life-enhancing benefits.

Daily practice of Meditation is recommended for anyone who is reasonably healthy minded and desirous of unfolding latent creativity and spirituality Such a person is willing to allow useful changes to occur when necessary and regular right practice of meditation facilitates useful changes.

For Meditation to be effectively experienced it should be understood for what it is and practiced with that understanding. The procedure is simple and easy to learn and adapt and enjoyable to practice. Easy because natural and enjoyable because it provides the satisfaction of measureless peace along with progressive unfolding mode of innate spiritual qualities and capacities.

One must realize that participation in meditation process yields beneficial results in proportion to the attention we give it. Marginal benefits will be experienced because of physical relaxation and mental calmness so that even beginners will notice general improvements in mental attitude and overall well -being. A more useful approach is that of giving full attention to spiritual growth processes so that the highest benefits can be actualized.

A healthy minded person is by nature a problem solver and goal achiever. With awakened spiritual consciousness and the removal of inner restricting conditions, meditators can discover their innate potential and learn flawlessly to express it. The practice of meditation enables us to remove our awareness from limiting conditions enabling us to acknowledge and experience ourselves as spiritual beings independent of relative circumstances. Meditators can learn to prosper, to thrive to flourish, and to be successful in all aspects of their lives.

However Meditation is not to be thought of as an instant remedy for the everyday challenges which often attend ordinary self conscious life, nor will a few weeks or months of practice result in fully unfolded spiritual illumination.

Before starting mediation I always prefer to do Brahmari. Whether you believe it or not this really helped me to relax my body and soul and than doing mediation. Good mediation is like you wake up after a sound and healthy sleep.

Because of hectic schedule I am not able to do it on regular basis but however every alternate day in the early morning I do it. Guys believe me do it for a while and I am sure you will feel the difference internally.

For the starting, just seat in relax position and start concentrating on something. If you need further help than just send a PM to me.

 I agree, I teach various styles of meditation to beginners and most students cant believe the benefits and difference to their lives.
in the modern UK, society looks forward and outward for peace and harmony not inward and now.

I began my journey with Transcendental Meditation and now teach simple techniques within my relaxation classes to let students
see what works for them best. We are all individuals, some are more visual or kinesthetic, others audio..etc

Hello Friends........

Meditation is an intensely personal and spiritual experience. The desired purpose of each meditation technique is to channel our awareness into a more positive direction by totally transforming one's state of mind. To meditate is to turn inwards, to concentrate on the inner self. The entire process of meditation usually entails the three stages of concentration (dharana), meditation (dhyana) and enlightenment or absorption (samadhi).

Thanks
