Gout and Ayurveda.

Gout is recognized by severe joint pain and swelling at the joint especially at ankle joint. Uric Acid is increase in blood. It is a main sign of gout. Gouty arthritis is typically an extremely painful attack with a rapid onset of joint inflammation.

Gout is one of the most painful forms of arthritis. It occurs when too much uric acid builds up in the body. The build up of uric acid can lead to:

- Sharp uric acid crystal deposits in joints often in the big toe.
- Deposits of uric acid look like lumps under the skin of the joint.

Chronic gout can also lead to deposits of hard lumps in and around the joints and may cause joint destruction, decreased kidney function and kidney stones.

Mostly, the first attack of gout occurs in the big toe. The toe is very sore, red, warm, stiff and swollen with severe pain. Gout can cause fever and signs like toe in the joints mostly ankles, knees, wrists, fingers and elbows. The tenderness can be intense so that even a minor touch can be unbearable!

Early attacks usually better within three to 15 days, even without treatment! The next attack may not occur for months or even years!

Stressful events, alcohol or drugs of another illness such as high blood pressure, abnormal kidney functions, leukemia, lymphomas, hemoglobin disorders and hypothyroidism can bring on a gout attack.

Uric acid is a breakdown product of proteins that are part of our foods. Mostly, uric acid is exit by urine. However, when the system is going to be abnormal, the uric acid is increase in body.

According to ayurveda, gout is nothing but indigested food juice named ‘aam’ is going to the joint with the serum of blood leads to inflammation and pain. Gout is curable from its roots by ayurveda.

Avoid:- Alcohol, protein rich foods like fish, meats, sweets, breads, sea foods, soft drinks, vetches(pulse), curd, pickles, sour items, etc.

Do aerobic exercise, breathing exercise, yoga, meditation, fast, ayurvedic treatment, etc.
